MOMBASA-Joho- Plans Underway for Coast region to secede Soon

Coast region NASA leaders launch plans to secede from Kenya
- NASA Leaders from the Coast region have began plans to separate from the rest of Kenya.
- Led by Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi and his Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho, the leaders said they have already consulted with both local and international lawyers in an attempt to legally separate from the rest of Kenya.
“We have agreed that we will use all legal ways to ensure that our right to secede becomes real. This is not just a journey by politicians, we will begin talking with Coast residents so that they can be behind us,” said Kingi.
“Today, we have also picked a lean team to be led by three people to be able to draw a legal road map. From today, we will be going back to the people so that we are able to tell them that if people have chosen to ignore our voices, we must find another way to be heard,” added Joho.
- The local leaders have always claimed that the Coastal strip was gifted to Kenya by the Sultan of Zanzibar during independence.
